From yesterday, let us learn that the true course of sanctification is prerequisite for prosperity – 2 Thessalonians 2: 13 ” But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as first fruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the spirit and through belief in the truth. ” : Sanctification consists in cleansing a man from all pollution both of soul and body. The heart is cleansed by the blood of Christ laid hold upon by faith – Hebrews 11: 1” Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. ” – By the begun works of the Lord’s spirit, manifested in the hearty resolution, purpose and study of holiness, and a blameless course of life and actions, the hands are cleansed – Hebrews 9: 14 ” How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered himself unblemished to God, purify our consciences from works of death, so that we may serve the living God. “
Talking about prosperity, Proverbs 21: 21 says : ” He who earnestly seeks after and craves righteousness, mercy and loving-kindness will find life in addition to righteousness ( uprightness and right standing with God ) and honor. ” – This providence is made accessible through true repentance and faith, which leads us to rely on the mercy of God in Christ, to follow after righteousness and mercy in our conduct. In other words, we shall obtain from God what is right and due to us, either from God by virtue of his gracious promise, or from men, whose hearts God will dispose to deal justly and kindly with us.Obviously, there no room to explore worldly and seasonal promises through sin in order to be fully loaded with ” Good stuffs “.
Isaiah 55: 1-2 highlights the fact that prosperity is God’s free gift ” Is anyone thirsty? come and drink even if you have money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk-it’s all free! …” All are welcome to the blessings of Salvation, to whom those blessings are welcome. In Christ there is enough for all, and enough for each. Those satisfied with the world, that see no need of Christ, do not thirst. They are in no uneasiness about their souls: but where God gives grace, he gives a thirst after it; and where he has given a thirst after it, he will give it; Come to Christ, for he is fountain opened, he is the rock smitten. Come to holy ordinances, to the streams that make glad, the city of our God. Come to the healing waters, come to the living waters – Revelation 22: 17 ”
