When the hypocrite is punished, the simple or commoner is made wise – Job describes Wisdom as
” reverential and worshipful fear of the Lord & understanding as to depart from evil. ” Job 28: 28.
The simple profit by the punishment of the incorrigible evil. But the wise need not reprimand for their improvement. When the wise is instructed Psalm 32: 6 ” For this ( forgiveness ) let everyone who is godly pray-pray to you in a time when you may be found; surely when the great waters ( of trial ) overflow, they shall not reach ( the spirit in ) him. ” He ( the wise ) received knowledge. The wise man uses every opportunity, takes advantage of every circumstance and event, to increase his knowledge and experience. And if he ( the simple ) follow the wise, may he shall attain knowledge. As an illustration: When the alcoholic man is punished, the simple ( non alcoholic ) is made cleverer and a wise man understanding will receive more knowledge in the domain of ” Alcoholism & his devastating effects on health. ” – Proverbs 21: 11 ” When the scoffer is punished, the fool gets a lesson in being wise; but men of ( godly ) wisdom and good sense learn by being instructed. “
For it often happens ” that the mind of the weak is the more turned from hearing of the truth ( John 14: 6 ), as it sees the despiser of the truth flourishing ( Psalm 10: 5 ); but when just vengeance take away the unjust, it keeps others away from wickedness.” Some kind of catalyst ( yeast ) to induce the consciousness of sin and exhort many to repent and joint the universal family of Christ.
Romans 16: 17 ” Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. ”
So both ministers of the Gospel, and members of Christian denomination, should not be asleep, which is the opportunity false teachers take to sow the seeds of false doctrine, discord, and contention, but should watch, and be upon their guard, and look diligently, that none among them fail of, or fall from, the doctrine of grace, or any root of bitterness, error, or heresy as well as immorality, spring up, which may be troublesome, and defile others Christians; they should observe, and take notice of such who are busy to spread false doctrine, should watch their motions, follow them closely, take them to an account, examine their principles according to the Word of God. And if found to be contrary thereunto – Avoid them with all your might and heart!
