Jesus states the awful nature of the sin of which they had been guilty in Matthew 12: 31 – 32 ” Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy ( every evil, abusive, injurious speaking, or indignity against sacred things ) will be forgiven to people, but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit ( by attributing the miracles done by Me to satan ) will not be forgiven. either in this age or in the age to come. “
That sin without doubt was against the Holy Spirit. It consisted in charging Him with being in league with the devil, or accusing Him of working His miracles, not by the ” Spirit ” or ” power ” of GOD? But by the aid of the prince of the devils.
In God’s Kingdom, all manner of sins shall be forgiven – That is only on condition that people repent and believe. If they continue in the sin of execration they cannot be forgiven:
Mark 16: 16 ” Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. “
But the desecration against the Holy Spirit, shall not be forgiven to men: by which is meant not every ignorant denial of, and opposition to his divinity and personality; nor all resistance of him in the external ministry of the word; nor every sin that is knowingly and willfully committed; but it is despiteful usage of the Spirit of grace, an opposing, contradicting and denying the operations wrought, or doctrines revealed by him, against a man’s own light and conscience, out of willful and obstinate malice, on purpose to lessen the Glory of God, and gratify his own lusts: such was the sin of the Scribes and Pharisees, modern academics or ” spiritualists “; who though they knew the miracles of Christ were wrought by the Spirit of God, yet maliciously and obstinately imputed them to the devil, with a view to obscure the Glory of Christ, and indulge their own wicked passions and resentments against Him.
Many sincere people have been grievously troubled with the apprehensions that they had committed the unpardonable sin, but it is obvious that no man who have tested the” Love of Christ ” within his Divine mission; ever can commit this sin. Remember, Apostle Paul vowed that in Romans 8: 39:
” No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. “
Jesus said plainly ” My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me – John 10: 27. “
1 John 3: 9 ” Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because they are Children of God. ”
Therefore let no man’s heart fail because of it, from henceforth and forever.
