Christ advises in the Book of Matthew 22: 21, to give Caesar the tribute and custom, and fear, and honor, and obedience, which are due to him; which may be done without interfering with the honor of God, and prejudicing his interest and Glory, when care is taken, that all worship and obedience due to God are given to him: subjection to civil magistrates is not inconsistent with the REVERENCE AND FEAR OF GOD, all are to have their dues rendered unto them, without entrenching upon one another. Let us rehearse all together what the “ reverence to God ” means:
Reverence is profound respect and love. A reverent attitude toward God includes , honoring him, expressing gratitude to him, and obeying His commandments.
As people show reverence for GOD, they also show reverence and gratitude for his blessings, his commandments, his prophets, his Church, his plan for his followers ( Children ) – John 1: 12 ” Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become Children of God. “. Reverent behavior include prayer, scriptures study, fasting and payment of all various financial commitments to the ” Body of Christ “( including donations ). Reverence for the Lord leads to serving other people and treating them with kindness and respect. Reverence leads to a quiet transformation in life by the renewing of our mind – ( Romans 12: 2 ” And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. “). People knowing who they are in Christ, are able to receive revelation to help them solve personal, family & community problems.
