Those who expect to receive comfort from God, must call upon him. Promises are given, not to do away, but to quicken and encourage prayer.” Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not ” – Jeremiah 33: 3. Jeremiah remembers this great teaching of God as someone deprived of his freedom , and in the verge of despair. Jeremiah, was a prophet out of God’s heart, he knew God was reliable in all circumstances, no matter what. “ Ah Lord God! Behold, thou have made the heaven and the earth by the great power, and stretched out arms, and there is nothing too hard for thee. Thou showest loving kindness unto thousands… the great, the mighty God, the Lord of hosts, is his name great in counsel, and mighty in work… ” Jeremiah 32: 17-19. Jeremiah prompted his connection with the Heaven through prayer. This one of the best illustration of trustworthiness and awareness of God’s might and authority in the face of all human challenges, especially for followers. There’s no one of us who cannot contact heaven. Never say in a situation ” there’s nothing I CAN DO ” – You CAN PRAY. Every failure in our lives, when properly analyzed, is a prayer failure. There’s not a single sin in our lives that proper prayer would not have avoided; not a need prayer cannot meet. It’s our greatest source of untapped power.
However, Prophet Jeremiah just echoes the fact that, God have made a provision for an answer now for every challenge; our duty is to sincerely ask through a heart-felt prayer and then received ( we will recall an atmosphere & attitude of prayer another time ). All who by sanctifying are cleansed from the filth of sins, by pardoning are freed from the guilt, are called to activate their privileges in terms of promises ( blessings ), any time; any where according to God’s will – 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18. ” …be unceasing and persistent in prayer…”
There ‘s no prayer too hard for God to answer, no problem too big to solve, no person too lost to save, no promise too difficult to keep. Nothing lies outside the reach of prayer except that which lies outside the will of God. “ This is the confidence we have in approaching God; that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us ” – 1 John 5: 14.
