Our weekly delight (joy & pleasure ) in Reading comes from the Book of Psalms 26: 1 – 10. Before then, Jesus Christ stands at the heart and center of everything we do spiritually, religiously and practically; we belong to Jesus; Jesus is our Lord as well as being our Savior. We are saved because of Jesus. We are forgiven by virtue of Jesus. We can be Children of God as a result of Jesus. Nothing is more important than to understanding Jesus.
” Judge me, Yahweh, for I have walked in my integrity. I have trusted also in Yahweh without wavering.
Examine me, Yahweh, and prove me. Try my heart and my mind.
For your loving kindness is before my eyes. I have walked in your truth.
I have not sat with deceitful men, neither will I go in with hypocrites.
I hate the assembly of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked.
I will wash my hands in innocence, so I will go about your altar, Yahweh;
that I may make the voice of thanksgiving to be heard, and tell of all your wondrous deeds.
Yahweh, I love the habitation of your house, the place where your glory dwells.
Don’t gather my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men;
in whose hands is wickedness, their right hand is full of bribes. ”
Please! Please continued reading the Bible! This is Life!!!!
Joshua 1: 8 ” This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for them you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. “
You cannot meditate on the Word without first READING IT, and here it mentions that the ” book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth ” which indicates that it should be VERBALLY spoken. The effect of meditating on the word of God and speaking it is so that we may ” observe to do according to all that it written therein “, and that will make it possible to ” make (our) way prosperous, and then (we) shall have good success. ” The prosperity that this talking about isn’t financial prosperity necessarily but has in mind the life of the person who first reads it, then observes it, and finally to know that what is written in it shows us how we can prosper and be successful, but not by worldly standards, but according to God’s standard ( endless blessings out of His Divine mercy ).
Therefore, after turning the ” Word “ over and over in our heart through meditation, we have the opportunity to grab the wisdom revealed in Romans 12: 2 “…so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. ”
