After we have heard God’s word which is GOD talking to us, we accept the integrity of the Word. Then, we confessed from our heart with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2: 11). We are new in Christ – 2 Corinthians 5: 17 “…anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone, a new life has begun! ” After our ” baptism”, we receive the forgiveness of sins and Christ’s righteousness as “Gift”:
- we are saved from God’s wrath, and receive new life by His Spirit (forgiveness);
- we are saved to fellowship with God without any sense of guiltless, and express Christ’s Love to others (righteousness).
This is a radical change, furthermore a “Truth”. In Christ we are given a right standing before God (justification), and we are propelled in love for God and others by the new power of His Spirit in us (sanctification). This affects the way we see those around us. It is not because they have become different, but because we have received an opportunity ( A WELCOME MANDATE ) to be who we are in Christ – Ephesians 2: 10 ” For we are God’s masterpiece, he has created us new in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. “
Jesus refreshes our mind in the book of Mark 12: 30-31 “… The second is equally important: “love your neighbor as yourself”. No other commandment is greater than these. ” If we love God with all our self, loving our “NEIGHBOR IS THE NATURAL RESULT”. Who is our neighbor, and how do we love them ?
Our neighbor is every person (it could be someone situated at the next door or adjacent; a foreigner from different race & language and faith; an enemy that means someone who is hostile to us by all means) in need of a help.
However, when we love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and strength, we grow to recognize that everyone is part of His CREATION – Genesis 1: 26-27 “…let us make man in our image, after our likeness..” It is crystal clear, that we were created out of His love, is that originated love who prompt the “Good Samaritan” (Luke 10: 25-37 – This is a practical experience of how we care for the well being of our neighbor ) – Jesus to care for us any time, any where, despite our carelessness. Above all, Jesus lays his life for you & I in other to secure our Salvation. In other words, for we to experience His FULLNESS – 1 Timothy 2: 4 ” who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. God sees all of us as potential Children. We are called to be his Witnesses. “In order to fulfill that calling of living Christ’s love in us. We must love others enough to desire their Salvation just as he does – John 1: 12 ” But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. ” A true follower of Christ, looks HEARTFELT relentlessly how to act in “mercy” and his conducive field is the Love for our Neighbor.
